YOUTH FELLOWSHIP

A Wide Range of Initiatives

Alpha Omega Student Ministry desires to grow in the knowledge of Scripture, to be transformed by the Word of God, and to be the Body of Christ in our church, our community, and our world.

Sunday Night Fellowship:

Each Sunday night the Youth meet for food, fun, and fellowship from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Meal and game times are shared.  Devotional time is broken into groups for age-appropriate study.

Wednesday Bible Study:

Beginning at 5:30pm on Wednesday evenings, the Alpha Omega Youth Group shares in a free meal with our community and often finds ways to share with others.  Following the meal, we have Bible study and games.  Youth events conclude at 8:00pm.

KID'S WOW CLUB

Learning to Give Back

Kids WOW Club is every Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm.  Kids have fun activities and learn the stories of the people in the Bible.  Come for a free dinner at 5:30pm, and parents are invited to stay and participate or head to Bible Study during WOW Club.

Kids WOW Club does a service project quarterly. The children decide on a project that will either help their community or someone here at the church. Some of the past projects have been picking up trash, making cards for shut-ins, collecting food for the food pantry, and collecting toys for the Mid-Del youth shelter.

PUMPKIN PATCH & FESTIVAL

Pumpkins with a Purpose

Every October, our front lawn is filled with thousands of pumpkins to be sold to support local missions and ministries in the Eastern Oklahoma County area.  The Pumpkins are grown by the Navajo in New Mexico, brought in by an independent trucker, and all of the proceeds go to support missions, such as Mobile Meals, After School Programs, and Utility Assistance Programs.  The money raised in 2017 was granted to 5 ministries, and was in excess of $17,000.

Our Pumpkin Festival is the second Saturday in October.  There are several areas of interest, including Granny's Bake Shop, St. Mattie's Attic, the Toy Chest, Wood Turnings, Christmas Corner, Handmade Crafts, Book Nook, Fashion Corner, and Grandpa's Country Cooking.  There are games and activities for the children as well.

STEPHEN MINISTRY

One-to-One Caring Ministry

Stephen Ministers are congregation members trained by Stephen Leaders to offer high-quality, one-to-one Christian care to people going through tough times. A Stephen Minister usually provides care to one person at a time, meeting with that person once a week for about an hour. Twice a month, Stephen Ministers gather with their Stephen Leaders for supervision and continuing education.

God's Love We Deliver

Mobile Meals is the newest ministry at St. Matthew.  Each Tuesday and Friday, delicious and nutritious meals are delivered to over 100 of those in need in our community.  It's a wonderful way to be the hands and feet of Christ.
