| Rev. Bruce Brotherton, Senior Pastor
I married my best friend, Tracy. She has a business degree from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. Tracy enjoys teaching, the arts, and environmental projects. We have one son, Conrad. Conrad teaches biology and ecology and other “ologies ”at a small Roman Catholic university in western Kentucky. I felt called to the ministry while I was in high school. After college, I became fascinated with ancient history and archaeology, the study of ancient cultures and societies. When I had a chance to live in Israel for the summer in 1989 and study at the Hebrew University there I jumped at the chance. Since that time, my wife and I have returned to Israel to work on the Western Wall dig in 1996. I have also served as adjunct faculty at Conners State Jr. College at Warner, Oklahoma, Panhandle State University, at Goodwell, Oklahoma, and Redlands College, El Reno, Oklahoma. I have served various appointments all over the state except in the Southeast part. Previous to coming to St. Matthew, I served as the district superintendent of the Clinton District, which is the Southwest corner of Oklahoma. I enjoy people. I believe that it is important for all of us to serve the Lord in whatever way we can. I believe that the best gift to the church is the lay persons who make of the congregation and the gifts and wisdom they bring to the Lord’s work. What a privilege it is for Tracy and I to be here at St. Matthew! Come see for yourself what a wonderful congregation this is with which to grow! |
